privacy

We keep as little as we can.

who we are

works is run by the owner of this site, who is responsible for your data. Contact: contact@works.hammond.website.

writers

We store your blog's name, title and writing; your email (private: never shown or shared, used only to confirm it's you, reset your password and send receipts); a scrambled (hashed) version of your password; and, on the paid plan, your domain and your plan's status. Payments are taken by Lemon Squeezy, who handle your card details and tax; we never see your card.

readers

Reading a blog stores nothing about you: no cookies, no trackers, no analytics scripts. A piece's read count goes up by one; that's all. If you subscribe to a blog by email, we keep your address for that blog until you unsubscribe (a link in every email), which deletes it. The writer sees how many subscribers they have, not who they are.

why

To run the service you asked for, and to keep it safe from spam and abuse (our legitimate interests).

who else handles it

The site runs on a server rented from Hetzner (in the EU); traffic passes through Cloudflare, which protects it and issues certificates for writers' own domains; emails are sent through Resend; payments go through Lemon Squeezy. They process data only on our behalf.

how long

Writing stays until you delete it. Blogs stay until you ask for them to be deleted. Backups are kept for 14 days.

your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you by writing to contact@works.hammond.website. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
